Hey all, What's your latest and greatest sounds? Basically what have you been digging? I've been going to Terry Riley, Terry Riley, Terry Riley over and over! He just had a release come out of his last "Shri Camel" concert in Paris from the 70's called "The Last Camel in Paris". It is SUPER EXCELLENT!!!. I've also been digging the new Earthling Society. They have really switched it up on this album ("Beauty and the Beast") and the new colors and textures are amazing!!

The best live act in rock and roll comes to SD again! This lineup rocks AMT the hardest. Tsuyama, Uki, Higashi and Kawabata form the greatest rock and roll outfit touring today. The show in LA included an hour long Pink Lady Lemonade.

Starless and Bible Black Sabbath is our hommage album to the early days Black Sabbath. many people love them, many musician got influsnces from them. but why are they the pioneer of heavy metal? i don't think so... i've heard their early albums many many times, but i've felt just their sound was just one of the hard rock from R&B with unique riffs!! also their sound were so cheap on the recordings. i love this sounds very much! this is Black Sabbath for me!!!
but almost people believe their sounds were so heavy! it's absolutely different opinion from mine. the kind of doom metal, satanic metal and so-called stoner rock are just made copy by people's illusion of Black Sabbath.
so i'd love to play my image of the early Black Sabbath. when i mixed these tracks, i found one thing. if i mixed like "Electric Heavyland", the sound became just like Doom metal or this kind of heavy metalic atmosphere what i don't like... of course it was not similar with my Black Sabbath image. so i decided to mix different way more cheap like typical early Black Sabbath!!! finally i got the "cheap, frumpy and ungainly" heavy rock sounds like my Black Sabbath image.
if you'd like to listen just the red-zone violence sound, you should listen "Electric Heavyland", that's enough.
but if you'd like to find another way of heavy psychedelic rock, please check it out!!!

Acid Mothers Temple and The Occasion at the Casbah in SD CA

Ah the ecstasy of a live Acid Mothers Temple show. I don't get excited about seeing bands much anymore. That's not true for this band. If you've never seen them you must seek them out! OK this was maybe the loudest show I have ever seen at the Casbah. Maybe one of the loudest shows I've ever seen. My ears rang for 2 days. Often the drums would disappear even though you could see Koji Shimura hitting rolls with abandon. Tabata from Zeni Geva plays bass on this tour and he was loud as shit. Also, he was excellent as can be! Playing mean riffs at a steady clip. Short mean, powerful licks. There is nothing like seeing the brothers of kawabata and higashi onstage together. They have been playing in AMT together for 10 years. All the lineup changes in AMT never affect these 2 folk. They are the heart of the collective. These Japanese men have been doing this underground thing for years. Multiple albums and labels and lineups and sattelite projects later they arrive at the casbah to sear the perfect ears of the chosen on Sunday night. The magic spirit that Kawabata claims is the cosmos speaking through him fired through the set. It started with Kawabata playing a guitar on a stand to strum and the one around his neck. He hung his guitat from wire on the ceiling and played a wah pedal. Higashi played the synth and guitar. Pink Lady Lemonade is their live backbreaker. You need to find an mp3 of it. It's maybe their most accesible song. They played for more than 90 minutes though their rider included 120 - 180 minutes available for them. Maybe that's why there were only 2 bands on the bill.

They shared the bill with The Occassion from New York. These guys just put out their second album on Say Yeah. You can check out a review of it at http://www.pitchforkmedia.com. It was an interesting set up with a girl playing tape loops through effect pedals, wurlitzer, bass, guitar and drums. Hearing three different singers was nice. I would have liked to hear them sing together some though. The main singer sounds a lot like Pall Jenkins from Black Heart.
