The Union Trib. reported that a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a former city employee against San Diego City Attorney Michael Aguirre has been dropped. Lepine agreed to drop the lawsuit and will receive no money from the city. A settlement agreement between Lepine and city states that each side will pay for their own legal fees and the city is prohibited from suing Lepine for malicious prosecution

The Union Trib. reported that the San Diego County Democratic Central Committee endorsed City Attorney Mike Aguirre for re-election Tuesday night.

Obama votes yes for immunity for telecom spying on US citizens! Moving to the center?! Hillary voted no.

When Poison appears at Coors Amphitheatre on Tuesday, August 14, they want their dressing room stocked with six-packs of Dr. Pepper and 7UP, a loaf of bread ("white"), peanut butter and jelly, three boxes of Nutri-Grain bars (two strawberry, one blueberry), and a twelve pack each of Heineken and Coronas. Tour busses need a bag of tortilla chips, a case of beer ("premium"), two pounds of grated sharp cheddar cheese ("in a resealable bag"), and a dozen bottles or cans of chocolate Yoo-hoo drink. Regarding fire safety, they want four fire extinguishers onstage, though they must be CO2-style because "powder, water, or foaming extinguishers.may cause serious damage to equipment."

Before Public Enemy plays the House of Blues on Wednesday, August 15, "Artiste will be granted a one-hour sound check." Backstage, the promoter must provide ("at no expense to Artiste") ten fresh baked fish ("Snapper or Whiting"), two large pizzas ("cheese"), "family size" packs of cookies ("Sunshine, Hydrox, Chocolate Chip, and Vanilla Fingers"), and a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken (mixed). "Note all foods must be kosher.no pork, no alcoholic beveages[sp]."
