From Sam....
Gawd!! I hope the walls don’t cave in on us THIS SUNDAY, Strangers!!
Sunday, May 13 will be the loudest Stay Strange yet!! Frank Melendez and Riververb! Also on the bill is the equally loud Actuary from Los Angeles. Plus a rare performance by artist Gerritt Wittmer.
SUNDAY, MAY 13-
RIVERVERB/ACTUARY/GERRITT WITTMER
THE KAVA GALLERY - 2804 KETTNER BLVD - 7PM - $5.00 - ALL AGES SHOW!
Riververb is always in a constant change, and I hear that the latest incarnation is the best so far! Judge for yourself! it’s some heavy stuff! Face morphing grinder sludge. Last time Riververb played, no slayed, the smoke turned black from monolithic chunks of acid-noise.
Actuary shake the shit loose! Los Angeles breeds some sick stuff and this by no means drops the ball. Not only are this tunes in your face, it’s in your skull too! Mean ass nitro venom. Gory!!
Gerritt Wittmer is an artist in the darkest sense possible. I’m not sure what he’ll be doing at this month’s Stay Strange, but if it’s anything like his performance at LUFF, it’s going to be scary!!!

Chris Cornell - Carry On by Greaser 6.14.7

let me start off by saying that I'm a HUGE!!! Soundgarden fan. I grew up listening to them and they were my second show I ever went to, Pearl Jam being the first. So I know that Chris Cornell can write some pretty kick ass songs. Now, his first album "Euphoria Morning" was a good album in my opinion. Audioslave was ok but never really sat well with me. Wasn't anything interesting with them going on. Nothing new and exciting. Now Chris has the new solo album that I was really looking forward too. He could get away from Audioslave and get back to kicking ass like he is know for. What does he decide to give us??? A big piece of audio crap. I don't know, there is nothing exciting about this album. I had such high hopes for it and was let down big time. It's like he's trying to go for an audience that isn't his. Adult contemporary maybe? Maybe having kids and a new wife has changed em but it's for the worse. I saw a recent performance of him doing the classic Soundgarden song "Outshined" and it didn't seem like he wanted to be there, like he was going through the motions. If his heart isn't into it he might as well stop doing it. And his decision to cover Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean" was a noble move that didn't really pan out. It's an interesting take of the song, but not a song he should of covered. This is one album from one of my most favorite artist of all time that will never be included in my musical library.

1/2 can out of 5 cans of grease

Editors Note: Wow, the cover of this album is terrible. I couldn't bring myself to add it to the review.
