Station KLA, on airwaves in LA prior to 1999, is an internet-only college radio station on the campus of UCLA. As explained via Wikipedia, " The station has dwelled in relative obscurity for most of its existence, though it has enjoyed a slight surge in popularity recently due to a focused marketing effort, dedicated staff, and general increase in the popularity of streaming radio."

Below is a Top 30 from 10.09.06 list of bands from the uclaradio.com site; some of which may be slightly obscure or perhaps just new-to-me. The links go to either the band's myspace to listen immediately, or to their web site. My comments are listed below. My favorites of the list are #28 Dr. Dog, #8 Lady Sovereign, and #10 the Capricorns.
