The company on the list is nice, The SD Reader (some of our friends and collaborators), The UT (impossible to love, and ignore...though maybe not for long), and the Voice of SD (which I love, it's the best sd city news for schools, local politics and more!). Frommers San Diego 2009 also includes this in their latest SD publication and on their best SD websites list.

The site features daily posts with anything from show and album reviews to lengthy historical pieces (local metal bands through the years, etc.), op-ed essays (Bill Wray, on playing with Ike Turner's band), the usual subjective lists (Ten Movies to Remember, Top Records of the Year), and free MP3s. This expansive site is run out of Ocean Beach by musicians Eric Nielsen (Maquiladora, Buzz Or Howl, Lotus House Records) and Keith Boyd (High Mountain Tempel, with Nielsen). Included are thorough album and concert reviews, leftist political articles, free MP3s and a list of recommended shows. Along with several noteworthy contributors, they've teamed up with Lou's Records to include reviews from their expert staff. "The website is really a chance to work collectively with other great music writers and listeners to champion the unheard, to share what moves us musically and to come together in a forum," says Nielsen.
