From Sam....
Gawd!! I hope the walls don’t cave in on us THIS SUNDAY, Strangers!!
Sunday, May 13 will be the loudest Stay Strange yet!! Frank Melendez and Riververb! Also on the bill is the equally loud Actuary from Los Angeles. Plus a rare performance by artist Gerritt Wittmer.
SUNDAY, MAY 13-
RIVERVERB/ACTUARY/GERRITT WITTMER
THE KAVA GALLERY - 2804 KETTNER BLVD - 7PM - $5.00 - ALL AGES SHOW!
Riververb is always in a constant change, and I hear that the latest incarnation is the best so far! Judge for yourself! it’s some heavy stuff! Face morphing grinder sludge. Last time Riververb played, no slayed, the smoke turned black from monolithic chunks of acid-noise.
Actuary shake the shit loose! Los Angeles breeds some sick stuff and this by no means drops the ball. Not only are this tunes in your face, it’s in your skull too! Mean ass nitro venom. Gory!!
Gerritt Wittmer is an artist in the darkest sense possible. I’m not sure what he’ll be doing at this month’s Stay Strange, but if it’s anything like his performance at LUFF, it’s going to be scary!!!

The Creepy Creeps - The Creepy Creeps

11.07.06 Inka Records by Greaser

7 years in the making the Creepy Creeps finally release their first album.
It's not that it took em that long to write the songs, it took that long for someone to have the balls to release it. I remember going to the first Creepy Creeps show the day before halloween the many moons ago. When I first got my hands on this I didn't know what to expect cause their live shows are great. Like I said before some bands are great live but it doesn't come across in the recordIngs. I got a copy of the recordings from the band before it went to press and to me it wasn't the Creepy Creeps that I love. Seemed to clean and not that aggressive. Once I got it on vinyl man did it kick me in the balls. Were these the same recordings I had on cd? Yes. They are the same recordings just mastered for the vinyl pressing which gives it that nice warm sound. I have to say this is one of the best releases this year and it's only on clear/green vinyl. If you want it you got to act quick though cause there is only 500 pressed with the band only having 250 and the label selling the other 250 online in the UK. Don't forget to see em live cause it's always a dance party.
4 out of 5 cans of grease.
